wonderful!

this is an absolutely wonerful movie. it is simultaneously funny and moving. i not only salute the author for his skills in writing, animation, and direction, i salute him in his courage to act on an idea like this and post it at newgrounds. doing a piece with emotional content is a big risk (as opposed to making a comedy), and in the case that risk paid off immeasurably. one of the finest things i have seen on at newgrounds.

so promising, but...

wow. great animation. the whole thing was so promising. the execution, the premise. but, it just kind of fell flat at the end. it's almost as if, you came up with an amazing idea, but didn't want to spend all the time to make it into the full flick that it would be (much longer, dialogue, spoofing the host and characters, and of course the reactions at the end).

starts out with a roar, ends with a barely audible chuckle.

really really good

see i think this is so good. i can't fucking stand all these heavy handed animations - their only focus is "look how slick i can animate things" and "look, here's my story that's SO funny/cool!"

this is different. it's kind of plimptonesque, actually. the dmx thing is funny, because any dmx refererence is funny. but, it's funny ONLY in a cheap laugh way. honestly, the dmx thing was the thing that cost you a ten on my rating.

i guess, what i'm saying is this: i could keep watching this and the only thing i'd get tired of is the dmx thing.

on a final note: i think you ought to consider animations with pencil/paper and 8/16/35mm film. not that you're not doing fine with flash, but your animation, illustration, and narrative style would probably work really well in the film format.

best of luck. if this gets blammed, fuck 'em, what do they know?

rip off

wow this is a complete and total rip-off of don hertzfeldt's "L'Amour." hertzfeldt's piece was brilliant. this is just theft.

Wow, try reading all of my author's comments you douche

incredibly witty

this is witty in every way possible. awesome job. if this gets blammed, or even a low score, than you got screwed, 'cos this is hysterical.

humor lite!

this guy didn't need to be indian. but, whatever; i think it's funny when people go to McDonalds and they order burgers without the beef. the fact that you had that purple McDonalds creature as the employee was the funny part.

totally forgetable, but funny for the 7 seconds it lasts.

trite

flash skills are A+

however...

this is a completely trite movie. wanting to stop the war is a valid position, but you're not really conveying it in a constructive manner. you haven't presented "the consequences of war" as the title has indicated. instead, you've presented a series of total cliches:

1. doves crying tears of blood
2. little girl playing in fields
3. graves and clocks looming
4. flowers blooming
5. mothers hugging daughters

and that's just the images. the music wasn't particularly good, either (though i couldn't understand the words except "stop the war" and the wretch inducing line: "love makes the world go around," which should only be used an homage to the powerpuff girls). the song sounds like it should have been played by one of those groups that are made up of 35 celebrities - each taking their own heavy-handed verse.

look, the issue here is that you're not addressing what's wrong with "the war." war or no war, when a country is being ruled by genocidal maniac, it ain't gonna be happy doves, fields of gold, and happy little girls. it's gonna be starvation, oppression, and poverty (at best).

so, if you want to explore what's wrong with the war, go ahead. and if you want to make suggestions on how to improve the situation in iraq, go ahead. but, please, don't try to pull the wool over our eyes with such banalities.

mazhouma responds:

Sorry for if the title was not appropriate, it was a misinterpretation from Chinese into English(it is my second language) however in Chinese I believe it's very reasonable to use this title.

very strong

great animation, and some really funny subtle jokes (the lazy lip sync was pretty damn funny, as was the twirling stick figure). most importantly, it has an incredibly strong narrative that actually holds up throughout the entire piece. obviously, the sound needs some minor adjustment, but this undeniably a great little movie.

flat

bad pacing. kept thinking this was over after every little animation sequence. and hoping it was, too.

i think i missed the point. it was probably my fault.

funny

maybe just 'cos i'm drunk, though. still, it was awesome!

I could make a career of being blue. I could dress in black and read Camus. Smoke clove cigarettes and drink vermouth like I was 17, that would be a scream. But, I don't want to get over you. - Stephin Merrit
