great idea

great concept, and you followed through on it pretty well. i'd say just clean up the sound a bit, and get rid of the last two songs and replace with something decent.

by the way, this is one of the most original things i've seen in a while.

magnificent

great concept, executed equally well. fantastic work!

pretty intriguing

nice animation in there. i like the pacing. i like the graphics. i like the randomness.

there's a spelling error: "you should to" should be "you should be too"

personal note: could have done without white zombie. that's just me, though.

yeah!

1. it made fun of 50 cent
2. it had journey

that means it's awesome.

awesome

funny. really well made. good acting. this is really good

excellent parody, generally funny

why the drug reference? the rest of the movie was brilliant and well made (the pacing was perfect), not to mention hilarious. the drug reference seemed really misplaced, though. it threw me off. parodies work when they operate on the same foundations the original piece was hinged on. this works in the kid's naivete, brilliantly in fact. but, the drug reference was opposite; it was way off.

understated and effective

i really like this. it's a wonderful song that lends itself it to a range of visuals. the author used it very well. its simplicity mixes nicely with the authors inventiveness. this feels like a personal piece, so there is almost a sense of voyeurism when watching it; as if it's a sort of diary or journal. and yet, it's also light and playful. nicely handled. good work!

just plain great

really well done. the prologue and epilogue are actually nice touches, too (most of the time, they're forced ways of getting you in and out). great manipulation of sound. really funny visuals. overall, this was just hilarious.

a let down

this falls very short due to the problem of using a dead milkmen song. dead milkmen songs are musically and lyrically brilliant. it's great punk, and they were one of the wittiest bands ever. as a result, the song DWARFS the animation. in this case, the animation isn't nearly clever or inventive enough. it's one big one-liner that really isn't all that funny (well, the "can you hear me now" part was great, actually). all this animation did was remind me of junior high when the dead milkmen still put out records, and how much i enjoyed them WITHOUT music videos. nota benae: the "driver" in this video is made to look like some big punk rock - blue hair, and snarls. the dead milkmen were all self-deprecating geeks; not dolled-up punks. and i don't mean geeks like that blink 182 band, either. these guys were smart, and very literate. they were more like art-punks. that whole blue hair and leather and "i hate the world, man" attitude is all posturing, and frankly it ruins an otherwise wonderful genre.

beautiful

well executed. beautiful. simple. poignant.

I could make a career of being blue. I could dress in black and read Camus. Smoke clove cigarettes and drink vermouth like I was 17, that would be a scream. But, I don't want to get over you. - Stephin Merrit
